    Angry signum 3.0ltr v6 diesel

hi to everyone on the forum as i am a new member

i have recently bought the signum from a small garage around 2 months back.
the model is a 55 plate 3.0ltr v6 diesel auto signum cdti.
i have a couple of faults that i need a little help with please lads/lassies.

after a few days i noticed when the car gets upto running temp it goes into limp mode with spanner fault on dash, once the car is shifted into manual mode & back the fault clears or when the car is left to cool down it also clears?

the other one i found yesterday, i noticed the air flow meter is on backwards with the arrow pointing towards the rad. i turned it round & straight away it through the engine man light up on the dash.i turned it back round, drove home from work & when i started it up this morning
thefault had gone off the dash
all the service's have been done by vauxhall, although it has missed the last one by around 23,000 miles. ( i am getting it done asap )

can anyone help with the problems & let me know why vauxhall would put this meter on back to front.

    cheers mark.

do i need to change the gearbox oil?

First of all you need to know what fault code is being stored. Then you can make a more educated attempt to rectify any fault.

And the airflow meter arrow 'should' point towards the rad!

When you turned it round, did you disconnect it?
If so, then you need to wait at least one hour before restarting the engine

    Default signum 3.0ltr diesel auto

    cheers lads for the info.
i will try & get the fault code ASAP.
the fault light has now gone.

is it still worth me changing the gearbox oil as i do not know when it was changed last, & also is it an easy diy job or an expensive one otherwise the wife will be forced into punishing me?.

    cheers mark.

I wouldn't change the oil unless it was contaminated. Is there the correct amount of oil in it? If the changes are going through correctly most of the time, then any fault would seem to lie elsewhere.

You sure? On mine (a Z20NET, not a 3.0, to be fair), the arrow points in the direction of air travel (which sounds logical) and the engine runs totally fine.

the air flow meter should point towards the rad as teh pipe then bends round and goes into the engine, i thought this about mine the first time i saw it
