    Default 19inch wheels

Hi folks, I've been saving me pennies hard and am about to buy some 19 inch snowies from the local dealers, but I'm starting to get a bit nervous now , cos of various posts about the handling etc, cracking, pot holes, can any of you guys tell me your honest opinions with regards to rolling on 19's... I also have eibach 30mm springs fitted... Obviously I'm about to shell out an awful lot of money and am worried that I'll ruin the car with regards to handling etc, there's no denying that it'll look the b******s with the snows on... So for any of you with a similar set up I would be grateful for your input.... Thanks

19's rule mate the ride quality is different but you get used to it,why dont you look for a cheaper set of 2nd hand snowies rather than getting brand new ones off a dealer?

Thanks for the reply mate, if I could find a good 2 nd hand set I would consider em, but I don't really want to be getting refurbishing etc done, got a good deal with the dealers too, so the handling will take a bit of getting used to I suppose, but I must admit I love the look of the vectra on 19's, just lately there seems to have been a few folk stating various problems and a couple who are going back to 17's.. So this was worrying me a bit,

got rid my 19's after owning them 1 week there terrible, would never go 19s again!
The 45mm drop and 235 35 19s made me want to get rid of the vec worse thing ive ever done
ride is harsh, road noise is terrible...... I swapped them yesterday for some nice 18" VXR rep's with 225 40 18's and am much happier

I've no problem with mine. I don't mind a hard ride, and in any case, you get used to it. Not bothered about tyre/road noise.

Wheels of any size can be damaged as a result of an accident, bad luck or silly driving.

Just keep them away from kerbs.

I was thinking about 19's but had the same concerns as you. After seeing a Vec at Trax last weekend with 18's and a nice drop it made my mind up. To be honest i thought they were 19's when i first saw it and it wasnt until i spoke to the owner that i found out they were 18's.
He was mega happy with them and went 18 to keep some of the ride quality and i thought they looked really nice.
He is a member on here. Infact sod it. Here is a picture of the car at Trax.

Must admit that vex on 18's looks nice, but I've got my heart set on 19's, just hope I don't regret it... Increase in road noise I'm not concerned about tbh, it's what it feels like is concerning me more plus mines only dropped15 mm from standard being an Sri with the eibachs

I had a Focus with 35 profile tyres and i used to clench my teeth when going over potholes or any kind of bump for that matter. I would never get tyres with that profile again to be honest. You cant avoid all the pot holes unfortunately. Not round my way anyway.
Road noise wasnt an issue just the ride.
Maybe someone on here has 19's near you and could take you out for a spin. Its a lot of money to shell out if you regret it.
