    Default Remap/ecu experts

Been sending emails left right and center asking about remaps for my car. Most can not do, some say they would have to send my ecu away , some are priced to high , some are to far away. Very few offer live remaps so all in all redline tuning look very attactive.
Anyway this is a high priced one, but they have sent a message back that no other tuning garage ( including redline ) have told me.
Can anyone confirm the 3 ECU variants statement to be true ?
    And if so why ?
And if so how do I tell witch ECU I have ?

    Hi John

Yes we can re-map the car (3 ECU variants 2 can be done 1 Cannot), cost £499 probably gains + 10% so 14 bhp.

I think they are over priced. Always.

Take a look of your ecu or use vauxcom/tech2 to read the number and they should know what version is it.

I am thinking about to make a comprehensive tuning box and the effect is like a remap but no need to touch any programming stuff.

Cant Regal Autosport do it as they are not that far from you.

yes it is your money, my point is i do not think it is value for money. guys on here pay that much for remaps and seem to get double that bhp increase or more, i know i did but i have a different engine. I just hoped you could get more bhp increase... what have other guys with the 1.8vvt engines achieved with rremaps..? I am also curious i was thinking of getting one of them for my wife to replace to her Vec B 1.8 next year..

have you considered going to this meet and getting your car mapped for £150 and see where it takes you.. ( you may have already spoken to them i do not know)

Did think about the meet, but I can not c them fitting all those cars in one day.
If they do it is going to be very wam bam thank you mam style.
And if I have a problem with it blah blah blah
Dont get me wrong if I had a car that they have done 1000 times before, I would be up front in the line.

The Duel exhaust, KaN filter and air box mod really makes the car fly (I wish all the guys that knock the 1.8 lack of power could try it out, I think they would get a big eye opener)
£600 for 2 bits of plastic spoilers (I do not c many people saying thats a waste of money and that has 0 effect on the way the car drives)
It is alot of money for 15bph but lots of things in life are not good value ie: £3000+ pounds on a 2 week hoilday that is never as good as we look forward 2 and we forget about and week later.
A remap should be for keeps. I will have it and the car for 3/4 years maybe more so the cost is over that period.
If it increase my enjoyment for that lenght of time, then what is its value ?

In all honesty m8, keep your cash, if you map it and go up against a std 1.8 you will find there will be next to no difference, with n/a between 10 and 15bhp is all you get and although turbo cars get double that and it can be a huge difference in how it drives, you just won't get that in n/a as your torque gain is very low meaining the pick up is nearly no different, the only gain you would see is about 3-5mph more top end due that higher bhp.
