    Default Undecided...

My Vectra VXR was registered in May 2007 and its now out of warrantee

Its done 29000 miles and has been generally faultless... except the handling is now getting a bit sloppy for my liking.

    So the options are:-

    1) Replace the existing VXR IDS+ electronic dampers with new ones

    2) Replace the existing VXR IDS+ electronic dampers with mechanical coilovers

Option 1 means you keep the standard setup, but just refreshing it

Option 2 means you loose the IDS+ electronic damping feature but gain racing suspension which is adjustable.

The coilovers I'm looking at are KW Variant 2

    Any thoughts, suggestions or opinions?

I'd swear to God I had seen dampers and other suspension equipment designed to work with the IDS system, is this something you'd looked into?

There are systems that connect with IDS systems for Porsche, VW, Audi etc..

    Nothing for Vectra VXR..

Its hard enough to find anything for the Vectra VXR as it is !!

Nobody makes stuff as there isnt the demand like other brands..

I'd be crapping my self in a vxr then, the 1 on top gear had bad enough handling.

'my liking' is hard or track prepared.

It was 'acceptable' on DAP racing springs and when fairly new, but now its only good for motorway cruising.

I want 'hard' again, as thats what I like
