    Default Lambda sensor

    Hi,

Still have my EML on with the following code P0455-5A. Has anyone got a photo of under the car showing the lambda sensor.

    Thanks

    Steve

P0455 is; Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected. I Googled this and most are coming back with the same story, faulty Petrol Cap. Not sure if this is the case with the Vec though. Have you checked the cap is on correctly?

There will be a canister that collects fuel vapour. At certain times the engine will 'purge' this canister of vapour by drawing them into the engine intake. There is a valve to control these events called a 'purge valve', maybe the hose has come off, or the valve is stuck? Assuming it's not the cap (which I doubt)

Do Veccy diesels have a canister for this?, i understood these were only fitted to petrol engine cars. If the vent hole in a petrol engined car is blocked, it can cause vapour canister issues, leading to eventual fuel tank implosion.
