Default Master plan for the beast

Think i've settled on a challenge for myself with the car now. Plan is to replace the chrome strip 2.2 badge with one that reads 200

This will signify that i've reached a target of 200bhp.

So what do you guys think i'll need to do to achieve this? The engine is a non direct 2.2, z22se

Last dyno run at chipped UK showed a peek power of 163.bhp, but this was on a really hot day and I had problems with the engine overheating, this problem is now sorted and I wouldn't be suprised if it's running around the 170bhp mark.

I'm thinking along the lines of a Dbilas inlet manifold (supposed to give 22bhp-ish) and a stainless cat-back exhaust.

What else do you think might help?

I've drooled over the Regal Dbilas turbo conversion, claimed 260bhp! But this is well out of my price range at nearly £4k.

The Dbilas inlet manifold comes in at just over a grand (from Regal), with a new zorst cost would be around £1400. The budget and the wife's patience will be sorely tested at anything more than this, so if I could get the manifold from somewhere cheaper that would be a start.

The Dbilas inlet manifolds are supposed to be very good. A remap after fitting one may get you closer to 200. De-cat it with a sports manifold and I reckon you will have cracked it.

There's always good old NOS. Stick with the 25bhp jets and don't kick the **** out of it and you should be OK.

If you want a zorst try extreme performance in basildon might be a trek but well worth it. 01268534471

NOS eh? Sounds interesting, seen quite a few reasonably priced kits once before, might just have to have another peek

Are they a Powerflow dealer? I've got one based localy in Cardiff that have a good reputation, quoted me £349 which I felt was quite reasonable.

I'll have to get a quote from the Longlife dealer down in Bristol as I love the noise from PIMM's set up.

been toying with diblas kit for some time but just cant justify the cash at the moment. the inlet manifold includes software as well from the ad so that map may account for a chunk of the 23 bhp in which case check that you will get the gains on top of the map you have. If you see what i mean have you seen the site www.22se.co.uk maybe some more info on there.
