Default Chrome exhaust exits - transferable?

I have a veccy V6 CDTi with the chrome exhaust exits - if I need to replace one of the rear exhaust sections can the chrome cover be transferred to the new exhaust section or do I have to search around for someone (dealer?) who can supply the rear section with it fitted - may be a simple / stupid question but I ask as my local exhaust supplier isn't sure if the replacement he can get has the chrome cover on it or not and it's not too easy to see if the current chrome cover on the dying exhaust is removeable.

    Thanks

Have any of you guys had to replace an exhaust and been able to retain a chrome cover? Seems a shame to have to lose one and would hate to have one with chrome cover and one without...

Can you buy the exhaust with the chrome cover on it? last garage I visited wasn't sure and wouldn't guarantee it would come with it...not ideal.......Thanks.

You can get stainless steel exhaust trims on ebay, often better looking than the originals. Just work out what length/width you'll need then do a search.

You could always drill the spot weld out and then screw/bolt or even weld it on the new one.. but saves you a few pennies...
