I don't know about that, last time Gaddafi tried it,he sent 6 fighters up to shoot down 2 US CAP aircraft. If memory serves he only got one back. The good US pilots are very good.

I think that is more due to technological advantage than pilot skill.

It must be hard being American. They are the brunt of so much hatred because their foreign polices but everyone expects them to come to the rescue when the **** hits the fan or mother nature unleashes her fury.
Watching the Koran burning thing with interest. A Pastor wants to burn some books to remind everyone why the twin towers and 3000 people were killed by Islamic extremists and the world is in an uproar, but when people burn the American flag and/or ethergies off the President no one bats an eyelid. Its funny how some people react towards a fictional book.

I think if they were in matched hardware the yanks would always win, their fighter pilot training is second to none.

I think you will find that the RAF would disagree. The US Navy also claims that their submarine command training is second to none, but in every joint training exercise the RN subs can track theirs completely undected by their crews. America only has militray dominance because of numbers and wealth (equally better technology).
