    Default Strut tops?? Part number?

Sorry if this has been asked before. My front suspension squeaks over bumps and after droplinks and arb bushes, I believe it may be the strut tops.

Which bit do I need to replace? The top assembly, the bearing, or it all? I know it is reasonably common for it to go and I have found lots of threads about changing it but which bit do I need??

Does anyone have the part number and idea in approx cost per side?

    Thanks Again...

    Default

    try vauxhallworld parts

you'll need a new bearing at least per side. its probably that which is making the noise

    and top mount support..

for the price i'd change both

    Default

the bearings get worn out and dry out over time

someone put a nice photo on a thread recently of a worn bearing but i can't find it quickly

the main reason to replace both is that if you are replacing shocks / springs you can strip off the old suspension as a unit without taking it to pieces. Then it can go to the bin.

but cunningly if you have new mounts and bearings ( + shocks n springs ) , you will have been able to prebuild your new unit so making the swap over that much quicker and you can do it at a time to suit you rather than when your car it in bits and that big black storm cloud deposits a monsoon on your head.

given the loads that are placed on the suspension, and the price of the mounts / bearings, it makes sense to always do it this way to me
