    Default Emissions Warning Light

My wife has come back from work - 12 mile drive- the emissions light was on all the way home.

No reduction in performance but i would like to know what has caused this and what needs done to resolve it,

    Any ideas lads?

    Thanks in advance

At a shout one of the 2 lambda sensors.

    Pinched from another thread

Have you tried the 'pedal test' on the car to see if that brings up any fault codes?

With the ignition off, press and hold down the accelerator and brake pedals as far as they go. Now turn the ignition to position 2 so the dash lights come on, but DO NOT START THE ENGINE!

Any fault codes will either appear in the odometer display as ECNxxxxyy, or the engine management light will flash out the code. If you see it flash 10 - pause - 3 - pause - 10 - 1, then the stored code is P0301.

For the codes in the odometer display, remove the last two digits (yy), then search for the 4digit xxxx code.

Seems to be about the only issue on the 1.8, mine is the same but still drives normally.Code 0036, second Lambda. Theres a list of fault codes somewhere on the site.

Naw, tbh if its faulty its gonna need replacing. Ive not done mine yet as the front pipe doesnt look too healthy, doubt it will survive someone trying to remove it, i'll just get a new one when the front pipe needs replacing
