the rears have the self adjusting handbrake part attached as part of the caliper so nice idea but unfortunatley not possible

if you want to upgrade rears find a scrap yard braking a late 2003 , 2004 V6 signum or vectra. They carry the 292mm calipers and carriers. I paid £100 for calipers carriers and carrier bolts although you might get it for less if you haggle.

The rears will then be vented discs rather than solid. Won't massivly improve braking but will make sure that braking is balanced better.

Are you upgrading the fronts to 314mm or more?

I'd try Neo Bros in Waltham Cross, they're a Saab breakers and will more than likely have some used ones in stock. HTH

    yes

    they also do a lovely looking 4pot 324mm kit on ebay for £760 ( calipers / carriers/ discs / pads / braided lines )

but if you want to save money

go to scrappy, steady stream of V6 entering breakers

just be cautious as early V6 had 302mm setup so take your tape measure with you or check the VIN - some post on here has the VINs with various disc setup

calipers/ carriers should cost £100 or no more

disc / pad set £70 from LMF

braided lines £50 or so from HEL or others

so reckon front and rear 314 / 292 replacement should cost not more than £400 .

then fitting ---- well find a friend who can do it for you

    good luck
