Default DTi Engine on a vec B (2002)

    Chaps,

Looking at a 2002 VAUXHALL Vectra 2.0 DTi CD..

Anyone got any tips on what to look for on engine history?? I know these are chain and not cam belts I believe?

    Its done 84k miles.

    Cheers A

Looking at options fella. It's not a bad engine looking at something cost effective, and still have our boxed vec c for fun.

Yeah True.. But think I want another Diesel.. Its all about saving a few £££ and getting a good car at the same time...

That Vec B I had was a pre facelift B. and it was only a Di not a DTi (less BHP) and that actually was quite drivable so this would be better still....

    Low Millage too...

    hmmm...

Was gona say the same, the 2.2 dti would be a better choice, better pump and more power
As for history,my book wasn't stamped up to date, but i serviced it myself using geniune parts for the 3 years i had it,i replaced every bush with geniune bushes the only thing not geniune were the tyres, and it never let me down in the 3 years i had it,and it had 150k when i sold it,but it was serviced to a better standard than some dealers have serviced cars
