Default Just bought a '04 plate 3.0CDTI Vectra Worth Changing Timing Belt?

    Hi guys

Not posted much on here, but it seems theres a wealth of info on the V6 diesel lumps.

The car in question has 64000 on the clock which is about average for the year. I have seen that the cambelts are due at 80000.

How much of a job is it to do the belt? I intend to keep this car for a while so I want to get everything spot on whilst shes still fresh.

    Cheers

Its always worth changing it asap if you can afford it.

I always change mine when I buy a new car so I know its been done and should last whilst I own the car.

If you check out my post from last night about the timing belt on my 2004 1.9 CDTi Vectra Estate, which snapped on the motorway at 69k miles then I'd definitely recommend getting it changed.

I'm currently faced with either paying for a big repair myself, spending time fighting with vx or writing the car off in the auction as a non-runner and seeing what I can get for it...

If you're planning on keeping it, then I'd go for it.
