    Cool Glow plugs

    Hi everyone

I posted a thread a couple of weeks back saying that when i start my car in a moring white smoke comes out of the exhaust and the car seems to like jolt/shake. It only does this when starting from cold. If i drive the car thorugh the day and get in it again at night this does not happen.
Anyways somebody said on here it could be the glow plugs going.

On saturday i got in my car and turned the key n nothing happend at all, i just heard like a click. Like you would hear if the battery was dead but i knew it wasnt becuase all the lights were on. So i tried again the same thing happend.
I was getting mad then, so i gave it a third try. And it started fine just smoked white again. This was the codest moring since i have had the car as i have only had it about 2 months.

Does this mean it would be the glow plugs?

Also when i first start the car the car with spanner through it light comes on(engien electrics)

    Any help would be great
    Thanks

Best bet would be to get the fault codes read - it will work out cheaper than guessing which part has gone

Definatly worth seeing that you get the glow plugs changed before the winter, with regards to it not turning over at all that sounds like a sticking starter motor

Careful when doing glow plugs mate, the steel casing has a habit of corroding themselves to the head. soak them with WD40 the night before you do the job, mechanic at my dads work unlukily sheared a glow plug off in the head

Lol how much do you think a garage would charge to change the glow plugs, and would they have the glow plugs or would i have to buy them and just get them to fit them, Becuase iv read that people have been charged around 80quid which isnt that bad if the glow plugs are included in that price.

    Thanks
