Rear view mirror

Just been out to the car to try a CD ,sat there with the lights on and the ignition in pos 1 , then turned it to 2 and noticed a slight increase in illumination , thought it was my eyes at first then i eventually found a yellow Led /bulb in the base of the rear view mirror , is this across the range or just higher spec models .

I think its called....no cant remember. It is supposed to provide ambient lighting of the gear stick area in the dark.

Its called indirect night lighting , ive got it on my design , just floods a bit of light round the gear stick

Indirect night lighting, think most cars had it as standard until about '04' / '54' onwards. Then extra cost option on some models. Mine has it, makes a difference at night

Yep varoius companys call it different things , ford are the best at dramatising it though ...... Submarine lighting ... OOOOOOO , i also had the same thing on a laguna hire hack , and it was pointles the thing was so drearaliy black inside it made sod all difference

It's lovely on a long dark motorway cruise at night, subtle but pleasant.

I find this lighting very useful at night, noneed to put the interior light on to find the stray polo's
