    Default 306 owner needing a change

    Hey guys, i'm 21 from North/east london. Currently drive a 306 cabrio 2.0 16v.
    mods: 2L8v - 2L 16v, stainless steel exhaust, lowered 55mm at front, smoother grille, projector headlights withh 8000k HIDs, sprayed original alloys gloss black, custom red and black leather interior inc. doorcards. dvd touchscreen head unit with 12" pioneer sub, remapped ecu and gti6 inlet & exhaust manifolds to go on but i have no time to fit them...

    Im looking into getting something a bit more sensible and easier on fuel. Got a Signum 1.9 cdti in mind. Just wondering if there are any common faults with these that I should be concerned about, oh and tuning potential

    1.9cdti 150bhp engine, has 3 major issues really EGR valves, swirl valves and 3 injector which are prone to failures/faults (but all engines arnt perfect!)

    as for tuning? with a remap/box, airfilter&mod and dpf removal looking around 200bhp with ooooodles of torque, could get higher bhp...........but i wouldnt if you are looking for reliabilty

    4 major faults

    DMF's are common to fail too.

    If you go for a later post 2007 car most of the parts were revised to cure the swirl flaps, egr and injector problems

    thanks your the info, i'm actually looking for a 2.2 dti now since theyre going a bit cheaper and for now i dont think ill need more than 150bhp. Ive heard thats most you can get out of the 2.2s without major major work

    Although vauxhall claimed the 2.2DTi had 123 bhp most have around 130-140, far more reliable engine that the 1.9 too :
