Up by me is renouned as a racetrack for the motorbikes/cars so evey year we get alot of deaths i think its about a dozen this year on the A82/A83

Coming to the end of the silly season(holidays)thank god so us locals can actually drive with our eyes on the roads and not on the sightseeing loonies!

I agree with you m8 about the A17 , one of the most tedious roads in the country ,thing is they spent millions upgrading it and there is still hardly anywhere to overtake safely ..
thankfully i dont use it now anywhere near as much as i used too.
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years

best thing to do on the a17 is to relax and go with the flow, its bad when ppl forget that - which happens all the time

Tractors should be banned from the public highway. Simple as that. This is a major bugbear for me. These vehicles are not designed to travel at road speeds, are almost certainly using duty free deisel, which is illegal for road use. I have no problem with a tractor travelling a few yards along a country road from one field to the next, but not mile after mile of 15 miles per hour. If they need to go that far they should be put on to a trailor and towed by a lorry that can actually do road speeds, and which is burning fully taxed fuel.

agree with above, also have a thing about cyclists on roads these days.

Having to break hard from the national speed limit to 10 mph due to a cyclist is not only dangerous but annoying. Lots of people are also tempted to go around them on blind bends.

Agreed there are some poor roads in the UK, the A17 being one of them. Mile after mile of single carriageway with very few chances of over taking all them tractors and HGV. I personally don't find it a problem, unless i'm in a low powered car and then just go with the flow. It all depends whos behind the wheel at the end of the day, the standard of driving these days varies so much and in some cases defies belief
