    Default How to achieve a good result with polisher

    Bought the vectra last week and there is quite a few faint scrathes on it and swirls and with it being black it stands out a mile, i want to do the meguires 3 stage and also im looking at buying one of these which one would you recomend

    also is it possible to use the meguires 3 stage with one of these and how do i go about doing it i.e what pads and what method, im sorry to sound thick and ask i just dont know and all help will really be appreciated.

    The first link you posted would be better, the second one would be too fast and would probably end in strike-through or burnt paint. It looks like it would be a good grinder but not polisher.

    As for polish, go for something like this

    Best way to get a good result is to practice first on an old door or bonnet. Make sure the paint is contaminent free then start slow, work the speed up then finish slowly.

    have a look on www.detailingworld.co.uk - there's quite a good tutorial on there for the rotary polisher and a good explanation as to how the polish works.

    IMO, the Megs 3 step clean is ok for a 'slightly better than normal' finish but to get a result, get some decent polish and some good pads for the rotary.
