the old omegas did change direction quite nicely!
the old omegas did change direction quite nicely!
Mine used to wheelspin all the time - no problem - was a real b'atch... TC never really helped - just retarded the ignition so it made me look like a 'tard in front of everyone....
Not good when you're trying to smoke anything on the road (it was a fully loaded 3.0 elite auto I had) and it didn't seem to turn off even when the switch was pressed (and the light on) - mate had the same problem in his 2.5
I got sideways a lot on roundabouts... junctions.... hell - anything... lol
might have been the suspension tho... they were heavy on the shocks I heard.
Didn't wallow or float though, just felt... odd...
The latest Vectra 2006 model does not have TC at all, so much better, more controlable in the wet without the nannies cutting in!!!
are you sure the new ones dont have it? i have a 2.2 sri direct and the TC is an automatic feature (no switch though) and it does work as i tried to spin it in the wet and it was having none of it and the light on the dash was flashing like a christmas tree (05 plate by the way)
mines a 04 sri turbo and it works on mine, switch should be about £10
yea Vx want £19 for the switch, rip offs!
TC buttom for Vectra C has the part number of 13138265 and costs £9.30 + VAT
All Vectras built from October 25th 2005 do not have TC as standard, except the V6 petrol and diesel models. It is an option through the CDC system.
To be honest I did a back to back test in the wet with my old 1.9 SRi CDTi 150 and my new one, both cars with the same 19" wheels and tyres and the facelift car has better traction all round so with this advancement Vauxhall obviously felt it was not needed.
I was dubious at first but now understand why.
when i had my omega i use to dread going round roundabouts in the wet or tesco's car park (stairfoot one).Originally Posted by threelitresofelitesig
the traction switch dont really do much on my gsi theres not much diff on or off.
mine is a march 04 and it works. From what i have read over various polls it seems to work on 53 to early 54 plate models that have the blue siring plug behind the blank plate. some earlier ones have worked as well so a bit of a lottery.
Switch is as matt said only £9 odd so dont let vaux rip you off.
