    Default Doggy rear bulbs

Has anybody had any problem with the rear lights (brake and side lights).
The bulbs were intermittent and dull so when I replaced them I found that the nipple bit on the back of the bulb (don’t know the technical name but sounds good) had melted and caused the problem.
Will this keep happing or had a previous owner used cheap bulbs.

No problems that I've ever heard of with the bulbs themselves. The nipple bit you talk of is only solder I believe so can easily be worn down as it's only a soft metal. If there was a bad connection in the first place, it could've caused arcing on this connection and melted the solder. Replace the bulbs and see how it goes

It is quite common for the solder to become blackened.
When you put new lamps in make sure you clean the brass connect/tab within the housing a little bit of vasaline on them also helps
