    Default NAVI inactive.

    I've a mate with a 2007 Vectra with a CD70.
The colour display says 'navi inactive'.
Putting my CD70 navi disc in makes no difference.
Does that mean it does not have sat nav installed at all? or does it need enabling etc?
    Any help gratefully received.

    As said above.

Navi is Inactive, when you have not put in a destination and "started" the Navigation, or when you have stopped the Navigation.

You will need to leave the map CD in the bottom slot though.

If the aerial / signal is weak, then the GPS icon with a line through it will show on the Navi screen.

A faulty disc, will return an error message like "Invalid Disc"

    Big thanks for the replies.

I feel a bit stupid now as setting a destination does indeed clear the navi inactive message (along with my CD70 disc in the navi slot) and it works fine.

In my defence my mate has just bought the car from an auction where it was stated on the sheet and by the auctioneer that the sat nav was inactive.
I took that to mean it was disabled in some way - I suppose my mate may have got a better price as most would assume (as the auction house did) it was knackered.

    No worries,
I've been using one of these for about 4 years, and I'm still learning new stuff...

and having plenty of D'oh moments

    Glad it's all sorted
