    Default Please help

removed the bottom cover today and noticed quite a bit of oil inbetween the gb and block on my 1.9 150.

From my days owning a b gsi, it was nearly always the inner crank shaft seal, im probably answering my own question here but is it the same for the 1.9's?

only had a look as when the cars started in a morning, and i rev i can here a noise which sounds like when you rub something accros corrigated cardboard, but when clutch is pressed it doesnt happen.

anyhelp much appreciated, getting a bit worried now tbh

That noise will be the DMF. Exactly as you describe.
AFAIK the only point for the oil leak between the two (you are sure it's running down from elsewhere?) is the crank seal. Is the oil black (engine) or clear (gearbox)?
Looks like it the gearbox out to check both.....

Oil is black pal, can't see any other leak. How will I know if it's the dmf? What would I look for when the box is off?

Have a read of this from Sachs - it's for 'experts' but I read it anyway.

20mm play (side to side) by hand is the guide amount.
