    Default p0031 & p0546

just bought a signum 2.0t and the car ran fine when test driving it

as i got gendan obd2 interface along with op-com i thought i would plug it in just see any codes and real time sensors

found that the above codes are stored and pending however there is no engine management light - i clear fault codes down and they reappear within minutes as pending

the p0031 is front lambda and it is near enough static at .45 volts - further investigation revals a newish lambda fitted but it is a cheapo with 4 soldered wires and heatshrink - it is hardly pulsing

the other code is for the exhaust gas temp sensor and the read out on opcom shows -4000c and high voltage - dunno where sensor is ?

i clear down the codes and the lambda starts to pulse for a bit and switches between open and closed loop when revving to 1500 rpm then the fault appears

the car is basically running in open loop with no apparent performance problems but ****ty mpg - £20 for 95 miles with a bit of thrashing

i also used opcom to check the dash MIL light and it appears with the rest of indicator lights but when u force MIL light to appear thruogh opcom it does not appear - could it be fuse related ?

just found out the MIL bulb is not working

it doesn't look as if anyone has taken the instrument panel out before cos the screws look untouched and the caps are in place

been informed a universal lambda does not work with these engines also so i will replace that sensor first before looking at exhaust gas temp sensor

i already replaced the o2 sensor m8 and it has cleared that code

i got my EGT sensor coming 2morrow and i have just tried to take out the sensor

i am physically moving the engine mount when trying to get the sensor out - it welded in fgs

    so i am now stuck

i also read about the 2.2 k ohm resistor mod that scoobys use to remove the egt when putting a decat on

also i was told that the bulbs in the instrument panel are integrated thus impossible to disable the MIL light ?

    Default

changed EGT sensor with no change

p0546 comes up pretty quickly showing -6441c and is static

put a resistor in sensor connection to try change value but doesnt change value

looks like wiring / ecu fault
