Hi all im still having loads of problems with my auto gearbox, can some please help me! When the car is changing gear it seems to be very jerky! like its changing in the wrong place! also when i slow down suddenly the car feels like its going to stall. Has anyone else had this problem?

hi, the reason I asked how long you have had the car is sometimes the auto's are not as smooth as people expect. I believe the oil levels are critical to smooth running, the stalling issue, not sure maybe torque converter? I would have thought however that both would have been linked. My auto is smooth but sometimes (not often) when slowing and cornering @ the same time the change can be noticeable. May be worth having an auto specialist looking at it and hopefully just an oil change may cure.

Right, two things you need to do.

First, if it's not had a fluid change recently, that needs sorting. Makes a big difference. Had mine changed after 26k miles (2.8 V6) and the old fluid was apparently completely knackered. You MUST make sure that you are using the right fluid, if it's an AF40-6 box you need to use proper AW-1 fluid (can get this from Vauxhall), do not use Dextron or anything else, even if whatever it is claims to be compatible.

Second, you need to find someone with a proper tech2 with security access and get the latest gearbox software flashed. This also makes a big difference.

Get these things done and it'll be so smooth you will hardly notice the shifts

Inclined to agree, my auto is smooth, no problems, if yours is that bad something's wrong somewhere. Only problem I get is sometimes slowing down at a roundabout or junction if I get back on the power gently it gets caught out and lags a bit - scary, when you roll on to a roundabout, press the loud pedal and nothing happens.
