Default Oh thank you very much missus!!

well I'm sat in traffic on a slip road, looks in my mirror to see a fiesta flying towards my right hand side, knowing fine well she wouldn't fit through the gap I braced for impact... Sure enough she takes my wing mirror off and scrapes my front end!! Luckily i turned a foot or so to the left before she hit or couldve been much worse! She stops and says "I'm really sorry I didn't mean to!" ok I say but I'm gona need your insurance details coz uve done some damage to which she looks at me like I'm been out of order!! So got her insurance details, what's the next step? Do I just ring my insurance and pass her details on and they will sort it? With Adrian flux if that makes any difference

If you got all her personal details location photos, pass them on along with her insurance to your insurer after a quick phone call to confirm their system.

Be careful and document as much as possible however as these events can often become knock for knock unless you have witness's photos and even a police record of it these days.

"Knock for knock" doesn't exist anymore - it was where two insurance companies had a reciprocal agreement not to claim off each other, as the sums they would chase each other for would pretty much cancel each other out over the course of a year; and by not claiming (or paying) from each other they each saved on admin costs. It was abandoned years ago when Direct Line turned up and started claiming for every penny from every one.

Unfortunately every claim, fault or non fault makes a difference (did with my mums non fault claim). Why I have no idea!

Because they deem that you've shown you drive in an area, at a time of day, where there's an increased chance of having an accident and making a claim. The fact that you weren't to blame was just chance, in their opinion.

makes sense, in a backwards kinda way. I guess you were partly responsible - just by being there!
