Default LED sidelights piggy backed off originals

Do LED sidelights piggy backed off originals work ok without flashing/strobing and putting the warning on the dash?

As long as you leave the original bulb in yes.

    Default

I did this today on my facelift SRi CDTi and they still strobe.
I fitted the LEDs in parallel, is this correct? Have to say, I didn't expect it to work because they still receive the current. Even if the were in series they would still receive the current.
I just used scotchlocks to connect the extra bulb holders. Two wires on the new bulb holder connect to the two wires of the original bulb holder.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Either hard wire them, or always have them on... I always have the side lights on anyway as i prefer the dash lit

I think I'll hard wire them now as you suggested in my thread. I just wanted a quick and easy fix!
What about number plate LEDs. Do you have those fitted Lee?I suppose they would have to be hard wired from the dash illumination as well? Could be difficult!

    Thanks

I've just put LED's in the normal plate bulb holders as you cant see them flash in the day. Plus as i said i always have my side on anyway so plate on too...

I started a thread the other day asking about any dash illumination wires in the back but it appears there are non... I'm happy with the plates but i wanted to fit a relay so the brake lights come on with the key fob too. Still might and just feed from the centre consol and under the bench seat...
