I would really want to know this as well. I bought one a few weeks on e-bay...got the blade cut by key code...but VX dealer told me that it going to cost 40 pounds for programming even if it's going to work even if it won't.

Thats a definate NO! I have had this tried by two different Vauxhall people, back door jobs, and both have advised that second hand flip keys cannot be done! Its annoying cos I wanted one done!

No because the information can be only written to the transponder on the key once. The transponder is part of the chip board. On the older Vauxhalls the transponder was seperate and all you had to do was buy a new blank transponder and code that. Just done my mate Vectra-B that way.

Ok odd question, My spare (was the original) key case is damaged, I was thinking of just buying another key and swapping the internals and blade over does this mean you cant do that anymore ?

On the contrary roswell...if only the plastic cover is damaged you can buy an empty shell of ebay. It will work great for you...but not for us

i've only seen blank transponders for the older vauxhalls. The flip key codes as one unit in one process. Coding the vectra-b was a two stage process. Transponder then remote key fob.

no. About £25. You can buy a blank key off ebay for £15 and a new cut blade for £10. You can then code the key yourself if you have a certain bit of software that we arent allowed to talk about on this forum.
