Default 3.0 cdti Boost / Map Sensor quick question.

    Hi
I have to be honest... I'm a fake! I dont own a Vauxhall!

I do however own a 2004 3.0 dci Renalt Espace (booo!) Which i understand uses the same engine as the 3.0 cdti Vectra (and Saab 9-5 tid)

I have a faulty Boost sensor also known as a MAP sensor or manifold pressure sensor.

Now Renault dealers want £145 inc VAT for this little sensor.
I called a Vauxhall dealer and they only want £62 inc VAT!

I am 90% sure the sensors are the same, but i was wondering if one kind person could have a quick look at their Vectra sensor to confirm.
The sensor is located in the rear "V" intake manifold, just to the right of the EGR valve.

    My sensor reads...

    PS61-05 V
    3Y19
    HITACHI
    BOOST SENSOR

If someone could confirm i would be very greatful as times are hard and i could do with saving the £80 differance!

    Many thanks,
    Simon.

When Renault launched the modified version of the 3.0 diesel, in 2006 I think, it had 180PS, which was just a slightly de-tuned Z30DT from Opel/Vauxhall. I think all 3.0's use the same boost sensor though

These engines seem to have varying degrees of bhp and torque output depending on vehicle and gearbox application. Yes, the boost/MAP sensors are the same for Y and Z engines.

Renault used the same engine in their "Velsatis". Did anyone on the entire planet buy one of them?! Does Renault still use the V6 in the Espace or has it gone down the uprated four potter route?

I'm sure they are all 4 cyliner diesels now. Still kicking out 175ps on a 2.0ltr lump!

As soon as our espace is fixed its getting sold.
Its a shame, its nice to drive, very comfy, REALY useful.
Mine is the top "Initial" model and has TV/DVD and a playstation2 built in.

The sheer amount of gizmos and electronics scares me. And from a nation of car builders not known for their skill with electronics scares me even more.
And as seen today, Renaults cost for parts are sky high!

Anyway ive ordered the Vauxhall part now. Fingers crossed its the right one.
And if it is then ive saved a few £££!

    Thanks Chaps.
