thinking of an sri but!!!

i'm sure its been asked before, but i'm thing of going back to a vauxhall vectra sri maybe 1.8 or 1.9 td

have had 4 vectra b sri's in past with all sorts of feature ie sat nav sun roof etc

my question is
1. do the latest vectra's have any sunroofs as i havent seen one yet
2.does the 1.8/1.9 sri's have the full trip computer wheather there is sat nav fitted or not
3.have they got cruise control
4. which would be better the 1.8 petrol or 1.9 diesel (around 12000 mile sa year)
is threre any other feature that they have over the older vectra b's

I've never seen one with a sunroof, they all have Cruise, not sure on your other q's.

The Sri's do have a trip comp yes, i.e trip distance, range, mpg etc

I'm biast and would say the 1.9cdti 120 or 150 a they tend to hold there value more, however it's jut down to preference and how much your willing to fork out to get yourself one.

Don't get me wrong tho the 1.8 is a good engine!

I know you can get sunroofs, they were on the options list but I have never seen one!!

I'd go for the 19cdti (150). Alot of people have fitted tuning boxes or remapped them and easily get 200hp out of them.

lads those figures must be for the older non vvt 1.8 as the 1.8 VVT has 140BHP...

I have an SRi and if I was to do it all again, I'd get an Elite instead and just change the headlights.

i know its down on power and torque but the issue's with the diesels and running cost are putting me off a little.

Avoid sun roofs, these went out the window with the growing popularity of air con. AT 12,000 miles per year I would go for petrol as the 1.9CDTi will cost a couple of grand more to buy, is more expensive to service and while more powerful is sluggish for 0-20/30 and only really picks up as you go 30-60 etc. If you do 20K+ miles like myself then the diesel starts to make more sense.

Quick question. Are you small. The Vectra C SRi seats are very uncomfortable for a bigger person (I am 6 foot, not over weight) as they have hard ridges at either side which dig into the sides of my hips with most of my weight concentrated there rather than across the whole surface of the seat. I had an Octavia vRS with sports seats that were much more comfortable because there was about an inch extra between the ridges. I have just bought the SRi and am already looking to see if I can pick up none SRi front seats from a scrapper.

I was just about to chime in and sugest this. I honestly could not recomend a CDTI to you as a second hand buy. Its just way to much of a risk. Any money you are likely to save on fuel could potentialy go straight out of the other hand on repairs and some.

Go with the 1.8 and enjoy the car instead of waiting for it to break.
