    Default cdti 150 hybrid turbo

    where can i buy one?

everyone i speak to looks at me like i've spat on their first born and i can find no mention of a hybrid being available anywhere on the web.

i'm thinking this will be the next progression after going down the ipf route(well after doing the clutch and the inlet manifold)

anyone know somewhere that offers a hybrid conversion, or really anything beyond the level of a remap. disapointed that theres literally nothing out there for the cdti

After you've thrown a box or a remap at them, everything else is just diminishing returns.

I've heard about the hybrid turbo's, and they seem to be a lot of money for relatively (compared to a remap or box) little gain.

The CDTI with a remap and hybrid will see 230bhp - funnily what dd has just said may be a point but the other side is you are getting close to the internal limits of this engine. I am toying with the idea to tbh but 220 I would say is the safe limit - and even there as with all tuning the engine life is reduced.

On the note of engine limits - pistons, piston rings, big ends and injectors are the things you would need to consider - I wouldn't see the standard components putting up with long term abuse like this.

nobody makes a hybrid turbo for the cdti 150 engine

your turbo on the car will push 30 psi anyway why would you want more psi

hmm just seemed like a natural next step after goin for a remap

anyone ran a tuning box and a remap in conjunction with each other before?

Think they would conflict with each other. A box tells the ECU that there is less fuel entering the engine than there is, whereas a remap tells the ECU exactly what is entering the engine. If there was no issues in theory I can see there being more power but I doubt it.

nutron ran a remap and a tuning box together IIRC. He also used other stuff (water injection, methanol, nitrous, fairy dust.....) to make it go faster. It did blow up eventually. Possibly cheaper to buy a VXR in the long run.

That engine apparently hit the 270bhp barrier.

Not very handy if you have to rebuild it every 5 mins though

Don't know there, some standard 150's can't even deal with, well 150bhp
