My lock nut key isn't catching on the wheel stud and I can't get the 4 locking nuts out, has anybody any ideas how to remove them?

take it to a tyre shop and let them deal with it. another member tried to get his off the other day and ended up having his wheel chopped off. I'm sure someone will point you in the direction of the thread shortly.

failing that you can get locking nut removers from screwfix/ most tooling shops..... almost defeats the idea of having locking nuts lol

They don't work on Vxl locking nuts.

The Screwfix/ Halfords ones work on a reverse thread onto the bolt that locks on and unscrews the bolt, but Vxl nuts have a collar that just spins and doesnt come off. This would need to be removed first or welded to stop it spinning

The only one that works 100% of the time is the Dynomec Locking Wheel Nut Remover

    But it costs about £300!!

If you have the lock set number just go back to Vxl and buy a new 'key', they cost £29.96

If you have the key take it to vauxhall and get a new one, they may need to see your security pass too.

When I got my car it did not come with a security pass or a lock nut key.

Took it to Vauxhall who had a master set, they then removed all four for me for around £20.

the master set only fits the locking wheel nuts fitted to cars from 05 upwards if its an 04 or earlier they wont have a set for it
