hey troops
has anyone tried passing an MOT without a cat?
my mate passed his MOT with his chipped PD150 golf with a decat.
just wondering if it would work on a 1.9cdti 150 chipped?

Simple answer, YES
superb good gains with it?
Poss up to about 10 BHP but it will drive alot more smoothly, just about to get my DTi booked in to get it done
Don't want to rain on anyones parade, but we are getting a lot of modern de-cat diesels that are very borderline on the opacity limit. Many are well over the 'fast pass' limit (1.5 m-1) and struggling to get inside the maximum limit (3.0 m-1). Some are miles and miles over! Some ought to have more sense, and remove their tuning boxes before turning up for the test.
'Cats' (Oxidation catalyst on diesels) primarily reduce HC and CO emissions, but they also remove a good deal of the 'visible' particles of soot.
Not a 'cat' in hells chance.
Actually, the Astra with the removed.............but that's another story.
