Default Car pulling to the left? Tyres?

Just purchased a 2yr old 1.8 SRi with 19k miles. Car seems to be in great condition. However, I noticed (2 days after buying it!) it's pulling to the left at speed (ie, when I let go of the steering wheel on a straight road).

On checking the tyres it's running Goodyears all round (which are somewhat worn) apart from the front right which has a Continental tyre (with more tread that the others it seems).

So I'm hoping it's pulling to the left because the Continental tyre has a greater rolling circumference than the Goodyear tyre on the front right.

    Is my logic sound?
In which case I'll probably getting a new matching pair of tyres for the front.

Will obviously check with the garage tomorrow - but thought I'd get an opinion from the forum. Think it's a bit naughty to stick brand new tyre on the front axle without changing the other especially given its a different make.

    Regards
    James

Yes tyres can make the car pull to one side. Happened to me when I changed my NCT5 fronts for a pair of part-worn F1's. OK in the dry, but pulling left when the rain came down.

Changed the tyres back - problem solved.

Put four identical tyres on the car, the most tread on the rear
    Inflate to correct pressures
Book the car in for a Hunters Full Alignment Check, alignmycar.co.uk
    Compare

I have goodyears all round on my 08 plate cdti and a newer one of the near side front...i thought i had the same problem..pulling to the left so thought must be the newer tyre...

Took it for a 4-wheel lazer alignment and jesus....the backs were of the scale.....toe and camber were miles out...once they were brought into line the fronts were brought more or less in line as well....a little tweaking on the fronts and sorted...

Wheel noe straight...no more pulling...£45quid it cost me but worth every penny.
