    Default (Rant)Mini Roundabouts

Dear people of Livingston and surrounding areas. Could you please note that when approaching a mini roundabout that you "MUST" give way to vehicles coming from your right hand side, that's the side nearest to the middle of the road, if your not too sure perhaps you should write with a big black marker pen R or L on the back of your hands when getting behind the wheel(either that or go to SpecSavers). Just because the road ahead is clear does not mean that you can waltz your way across mini roundabouts willy nilly. Also of note is that the arrows on the road show you the correct way around said roundabout (clockwise) and that failure to comply could cost you 6 points and a hefty fine for careless driving. Do you drive the wrong side of Deer Park or Lizzie Brice roundabouts?????
Sorry for the rant but im getting sick fed up of emergency braking to prevent an accident when I am in the right going around mini roundabouts, you have been warned. Next time im not stopping and I will make a large claim from you and/or your insurers(whiplash, time off work, loss of earning, loss of golfing fee's etc.....) , so expect your insurance and licence to take a rather large hit next time you fail to comply with the basics of the highway code.

That is all, ****ed off, Ewan.

I know what you mean mate, it's very frustrating, the thing that really pee's me off is people refusing to indicate whether it being on roundabouts or coming off main roads...

Could easily have an accident every day at work at any one of several miniroundabouts...
Would rather prevent an accident due to the paperwork involved lol! but one day i wanna get rid of the car I may chose to stick to my 'right of way'.. (give up doing that a few years ago)

I know what you mean ............when we had a mini roundabout installed at the entrance to our car park...mainly for the new posh housing estate the other side of the road ...the amount of crashes in the first few months were unreal ..30mph limit but ppl use it as a bit of a raceway.........things calmed down mainly because the ppl from the posh houses just stop and ck to see if anyone is coming from the left ..even tho they have right of way .......ppl just dont slow down at flipping roundabouts do they ?.I think they should of put(dare I say it) some speed humps in....theres enough in the village so a few more wont hurt (only my poor splitter lol )

They are, expert at ignoring them!!! Last week as I approached the one at the end of my street I even saw a police car carry on through without even looking to see if it there was anything approaching it.

See this sort of thing all the time. Many drivers do not seem to understand that you have to give way to traffic already on a round about (mini or otherwise).

If I may add my 2p....

People who think a mini roundabout is the place to do a U-turn...........

HELLO...........I'd struggle to U-turn my bicycle on most of them and you're trying to turn your huge vehicle.

    GET A GRIP!!!

I agree, the majority of peoples driving on mini roundabouts is awfull (multi lane rb's too). I can sort of understand how idiots get confused by the ones put on T junctions, where the straight through road has roundabout rules but the 2nd road has give way markings, meaning they must give way to all traffic not just from the right.
And the not indicating really peaves me, and people who indicate as they turn. They must think it helps them corner or something. The clue is in the name - INDICATORS - to give everyone else an indication of what you intend to do!

    And breath.
