    Default Drive Shaft Inner Boot

    I have a split on the n/s inner drive shaft boot.

    Has anyone had a drive shaft off? Do they just pull out of the gearbox like the old vauxhalls without draining the oil or will the box need drained?

    Got mine done at vauxhall mate iirc it was about £50-£60 so i thought id just let them do it

    Irmscher Insignia CDTI 130

    Cant you still get those kits where the new rubber has to be glued together?

    ive used those kits in the past and tbh they are a bit of hit and miss, better off buying a genuine one from stealers, then jack the side up your doing as high as you can to shift the gear oil over to oposite side, pretty sure the shafts still pull out like the older vec b's just have a clean rag ready to jam into the gear box where you pulled out the shaft to stop the oil coming out,

    as for the cv joint coming apart im not sure if its still the old circlip style where you get covered in grease or not,
