    Default Lambda question on 2.0T

Okay I need a little advice. My Emission light comes on randomly and stays on (the engine symbol, not the car and spanner).
Plugged into diagnostics and there are no stored codes or faults, so once cleared it goes away, but will come back either month later or two weeks later.
When engine is at operating temp, the Exhaust Gas Temp. reading is always -6.5 - actually it's always reading this - and the loop is switching between open and closed. Is it feasible to think that because of the lazy sensor it will throw the light on, but not store a code?

No. Standard. It's gotta be related to the loop switching constantly or the odd reading of the gas temp....how can it ever be minus anything?

I've had the same light (emissions) pop on every now and again - steady, not flashing (if flashing then you need to stop driving ASAP). As with you, no codes stored and once cleared it wouldn't happen again for yonks. It only ever happened at start-up and usually when it was cold outside so I just out it down to the car not being warmed up, fuel not burning fully etc. etc. and the sensor just being a fit finicky

As mine is mapped then I thought that may have been a contributing factor. I can't recall the last time it happened so can't suggest why your standard car is doing it so often.

No it's not flashing, but just comes on. As said, there are no stored codes so leads me to believe that it's just a momentary anomaly/abnormality. Think I;ll reset it, run it on shell or BP (I use Esso atm) and see if that helps. If not then I'll change the sensor, as the fact that it reads a temp of minus anything can't be correct. Local VX dealer said that even though there is no error code stored, they's recommend changing the sensor anyway.
