Default loosing oil & smokey exhaust!

    hi,

Got a 2003 Vectra C 2.2 SRI petrol. It keeps loosing oil, have to top up every 300 miles. The exhaust is very smokey, so assuming burning oil. Can see any leaks anywhere.

Any advise where to look? or common problem that can be fixed???

    Thanks
    Richard

it's stamped on the engine block in the front of engine low down,
not a job you can do yourself,a complete engine strip down, the labour will turn it into a very expensive job.

You can have a compression test done,VX won't do anything for an 03 motor.any good workshop will do test doesn't have to be a dealer.(or stealer)

if it is rings and you keep it full of oil you should be ok,just don't thrash it as this will use more oil,how long has it been using oil.
