    Default 2.2 DTi Owners.

It seems to be that the old 2.2 DTi is pretty much the most unreliable engine in the range, no offence to any other members, but can this thread be replied to by 2.2DTi owners with a brief description of any problems or niggles. I expect to be having an interesting conversation with a senior manger at Vauxhall soon, so would like some ammunition to go in with. I am going into bat for all of us now, not just myself. Hopefully the outcome will be positive for EVERYONE who has had problems.

    Thanks for your help.

Touch wood her ladyship has not missed a beat yet. The only issue we had was of our own doing - trying to fit an induction kit which she took a dislike to and was promptly removed

I wish you every success in your battle to get yours sorted out though - it is about time this was fixed for you

    Default 2.2 dti

had a 2.2dti B sri which wouldnt start when left uphill- fitted a one way valve which helped.

i understand that there is a design/manufacturing fault with the leak off pipes but there a upgraded pipe available and also the injector seals need replacing every 15,000 miles

Mines the 2.0Dti, almost identical i think, no probs at all in 75k, never renewed injector seals or leak off pipes.

Sorry m8, but despite my problem, I would say that was rather unfair all things considered.
I wish you luck, but yours certainly appears to be the exception to the rule.

The only issues I had with my 2.2Dti 03 plate Elite after 60,000 miles and three years were a crank shaft seal (Pulley end as opposed to rear main) and a steering rack problem (at which point I traded it in!)

The engine I had in mine was IMHO superb. Sorry to hear about the issues you are having though mate.

No offence bud, but take a look at the first page of troubleshooting under the heading engine and gearbox. 2.2Dti this, 2.2Dti that....

None taken m8, but I have yet to see any real big, main, common problem, time will tell I guess.
