Default Don't try this at home kid's

OK I am not normally a hoon in the car really, but today I played with a Jag X type 2.2D and found,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

A standard 1.9 CDTi 150 can keep with it no issues at all! He was trying every trick he could to outdrag me on the Bypass running up to the M77 motorway from East Kilbride and up the steep climb from the Eaglesham roundabout he tried three times to pull away from me rather than pull in and let me pass and at every speed from 20mph to 69.999mph was very unsuccessful.

    I am rather chuffed

You would be surprised what a standard 150 can do - when they work, unlike mine.

Some times you just have to have a go and see where the water level is, I did it with the Saab and when I got as far as M5 BMW V10's (with remap to about 280Hp net) I knew what I could and couldn't slay

This is a whole new ballgame and I was short shifting to keep the engine between 2>3,500rpm as that was where the pull felt best on the very steep climb.

As for terminal velocity well he was as game as me and we reached

Hehehehe, sometimes it has to be done. I had a long friendly blast down the M54/A5 a few years back, 2.2 petrol Vauxhall Carlton (last of the old type) with an Opel Monza. Got to some interesting speeds (up to 69.99mph of course)
Much better than the constant hassle from the chavs in their 1.0 pride and joys. Glad you had fun.

Something tells me that Jag was not trying quite as hard as you thought he was. That 2.2 lump is the same as the mondeo ST TDCI's.
The 130's are known to put out 140 bhp + and the 155's are defo putting out more than they say on the tin. very very good engine when its not killing injectors.
