    Default service schedule

just had a reminder from my vauxhall dealer that my car is 12 months old next month and is due its first service. i thought first service was 20000 or 2 years on a 18 petrol. car as only done 9000 and service indicator says 11000 to go. have i got this wrong or is dealer trying to pull a fast one

Yeah, you're correct with 20k or 2 years.

I nearly had to fight to get mine done after 1 year, "but there is no service at 12 months for the vectra" was the reply.

There are two service schedules on the Vec C/Signum - EcoFlex and EcoService.

EcoFlex = maximum of 20,000 miles/2 years but will vary depending on how the car is driven, types of journeys etc.

EcoService = straightforward 10,000/12 months service.

As you're getting the mileage left in your dash display then you are on EcoFlex (as is default when the cars leave the factory). A lot of dealers switch them to EcoService when they get them (maybe so that they service the car more often?! Cynical? - moi?!). They maybe just assumed you were on EcoService rather than EcoFlex.

Even though you're on EcoFlex, I'd still strongly suggest that you at least change the oil sooner than 20,000 mile/2 year intervals - even with the high grade semi-synthetic oil that will have been put in at the factory.

Interestingly, Vx have now dropped the EcoFlex schedule on new Vec C/Signums and gone to the 10,000/12 months EcoService as the only one used (on current models).
