I would go with Vectra, when you've got three doors and it is either you or your front passenger out seat forward and little one either in or out (every time!) it will get annoying.

Go with the size and comfort of the Vectra but girlies always like a slightly smaller car so SWMBO (her indoors and the one with the trousers) I'm sure will get her way, they usually always do, so i expect you to have a 3 door Astra next time??

I would never put my kids in the back of a 3 door car... The idea of being involved in an accident with kids trapped behind seats, no easy way of escape or rescue, well, I shudder... Nope, 3 door cars are ok for transporting adults I suppose (their risk) but not for littluns..

Having owned the sport hatch for 3.5 yrs and sold it to get the vectra simply because i needed more room, stick with a vectra the astra is ideal for yourself and one child but not for 3, the boot is so small once you have 3 lots of bags in it's full.

The vectra is fit for the job the estate would be even better mine is hatchback, i like the above comment of a crash with a child in a 3 door that never entered my mind but your bang to rights correct a 5 door is a much better option.
