Default Fellow member scammed BIG TIME!

    Guys,

he probably won't want to admit this and I'll keep him name out of it..

but a long term fellow member has lost quite a bit of money due to some serious fraudsters!

This was a deal for a car that has gone horribly wrong and left him over three grand out of pocket! To say he's gutted is somewhat of an overstatement as you can imagine.

Now the guy I'm talking about has done loads of work for other members on this site and I'm posting this in the hope we can maybe band together and sort something out? maybe all chip in a little??

So come guys what can we do?

    Police have been involded..

basically the deal was to meet at a location, the scammers have pretended to be pensioners selling a car and have asked that both parties put some money into something called moneygram, so they both knew they'd turn up at the said location. Somehow the scammers have managed to get the info and work into the post office with false ID and take the guys money.

So the guy in question has been sat waiting for these people to turn up not realizing his money has already gone.

Appreciate most of you are obviously reluctant to part with money for any old thing on the net, but if admin want to contact me I can give them further details and they can then vouch for said person??

Like I said he's been a member on here for a while and is known by quite a few people. If he agrees to people knowing who he is then he can post himself.

Post office may be liable then, as they gave money to a fraudulent party?

I think that's a 50/50 tbh, but it's his only hope of getting anything back I think.

    !

At the end of the day, if someone has been scammed then its not there fault. Scammers are these to screw people and everyone learns from what has happened to other people.

I reckon the victim should have no reason to feel ashamed. At the end of the day this is a "community" forum so any information shared will help one another.

I wouldnt mind helping someone in such a situation, but naturally id want to know who im helping and more details and I feel that others too will want to make their own judgements too.

If the member has been on here for a while then they should know that this is trustworthy place and no one will think any different of the person.

On the flip side, any scammer should be shot dead. I got no problems in someone making a quick buck or a profit here and there, but to deliberately screw someone I cannot stand!

Good luck to the victim and we are all with you buddy and im all for doing a raise, but naturally due to own circumstances, may only be able to make a small contribution.
