With me its paying close attention to the oil pressure light, and not revving the engine.

I know what you mean about the oil light, and not reving, got to let the engine move the oil about a bit before taking it on the road. I have changed the oil on cars before, and first turn over sounds like a bag of spanners, so I guess thats why I listen so intently...

Had to laugh at your post as I'm exactly the same, I find myself cringing as I turn the key after an oil change !!!

i think were all the same - making sure every thing is ok after an oil change is critical checking twice to be sure - the last thing you want is it dumping its content on the floor and siezing after spending all the time effort and money on keeping the ride nice and sweet

regarding this week - all i keep doing is watching the water beading off of the car - we had over 2 inches of water yesterday - and it took me 3 hours to drive 45 miles today owing to flooding and road closures from trees that have been uprooted by soggy ground and high winds - so no havent accomplished anything!

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

Lol anytime I do anything to a car I'm paranoid about it till it's started and run. I've been past a Maplins today, so stopped to check out the reversing sensor kits on offer. Aasked SWMBO if she wanted a set, she said she'll wait and see if I can put them on mine successfully first. Such confidence!

I know what you mean about the weather, when I started on the car it was sunny, and my garage has no drainage, after I jacked it up and put it on axle stands the heavens opened with a vengence. Not nice laying in a small stream undoing the sump bolt!!!

Nope. Sorry chaps but its only a lump of metal to me. I suppose after 30 odd years with various cars you get a bit blazzaie.
