    Default Outside Ambient Temperature?

Hi All, sorry I have not been on for while but new baby = lack of any personal time to trawl forums etc

    Anyway, back to topic...

I recently had a piece of wood flick up and hit the front oif the Vec while driving on the motorway.

All it did was push the lower front grill back a bit but no paint damage...which is good.

I have pulled the grill back in place but now the Outside temperature reading on the DIS is showing well above what the actual temperature outside actially is. IE: Yesterday...it was not that hot...was cloudy....but the temp said 43 degs ....when it should have said around 20degs

Is the sensor somwhere low at the front of the car? and has it potentially been pushed towards the rad?

Sorry for the mundane question...just interested.

The actual car itself drives fine and engine temp stays normal...even under heavy foot.

    Cheers

    Steve

The temp sensor is clipped to bottom of inside bumper down by the front grille so my guess is its either come off and is sitting next to rad or its broken.
Pop bonnet and look down front of rad you should see the wiring to the sensor

Sorted...cheers BigMac...saved me a trip to the garage.

Looks like it is missing a protective cap or something, but plugged it back into grill and temp seems ok.

It was stuck in between rad and turbo cooler ...so no wonder it got warm.

    Cheers again
