    Default Paint coming off!!

    Hi,

As per previous posts, I have had numerous problems with my Insignia (bought at 10 months old 8,300 miles on clock).

Anyway I have had a few spot like bits of paint come off the bonnet, not from a scratch (it does have one very very small scratch as in 1mm but this is not what I am talking about). What are my rights on this since I don't expect this on a nearly new car?

Also, just out of curiosity, the car automatically revs when the A/C is on and the car is stationary. It has already been in twice on this issue can anyone advise?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends if the lifting paint has been caused by a stone chip. that would be their sort of get out clause.

The revs will be slightly higher with the a/c on due to the extra load on the engine. Depends on what you mean by reving

The reving as in a couple of hundred revs flucuating (excuse spelling) and its quiet loud when windows are down.

as per Seans post the paint defects would need to be a manufacturing defect - and not stone chips or damage related

the engine changing pitch/revs when the AC is switched on would be normal as the ac causes additional load to the vehicles electronics and it also depends on how hot the interior temp sensor is reading in relation to the temp you are asking the car to take the temp down to ...
the higher the difference the harder the car is going to have to work and this puts the engine under more load

Smart repair or have a go yourself. Carefully just over fill it and wet sand it back and machine polish away.

I think I would get a pro to do it. You haven't seen me with a paint brush nevermind a car and some spray!
