    Default The dreaded P1191 code!!!!

Been having problem with my 2.2 Direct 06 Vec randomly cutting out. Thankfully only at low speeds. Fails to restart initially, then finallly springs back to life after a few minutes, then runs fine for a while.

Been and had it plugged in and the dreaded P1191 code has appeared. HAve been told the ony way to fully solve the problem is to replace the HP Fuel Pump, fuel sensor and fuel regulator! I see £££ signs flashing in front of my eyes!!

    Any thoughts on the diagnosis?

    Hi oggiejmx

vx recently done a recall on the fuel regs - worth giving your local vx dealer a ring and see if your car was under the recall batch number

HP fuel pumps are prone to failing on the these cars as vx used faulty ones originally but will only recall for the fuel reg and will not replace hp fuel pump unless the car is still under warranty with them. vx know they have used faulty parts but are opting to replace the cheaper parts only rather than do the decent thing and rectify their mistakes.

has not been lumpy on idle, runs smoothly until it decides to give up.
MAte runs an independant garage and he has spoken to his contacts at an independant vauxhall specialist and they say only way around the problem is to replace all three parts. Not going to bother chasing the recall because they will rip me off on the rest of the work.

worth giving vx a bell though mate cause if your car is under recall then you will get the new fuel reg fitted plus they will do a diagnostics all free of charge saving you £100+ money is better in your pocket than theres mate and trust me if you can get anything free of charge from vx then its all good!
