    Default Switchable remaps

    Hi all,

Warranty will be ending in the next 12 months and considering a remap !

Im sure there is a member on here, might be something like ChrisK, only I cant find him on the list ??!!

Think he may have had the dealer load a new map onto the car and fitted a sport switch somehow wired it to the switch. Very imterested in this. I like the idea of pressing the button for a bit more power, should you want it and the rest of the time, using the car as normal.

Looking for some advice and options.

    Thanks all!

the vxrs have a sports switch that can allow the map to work on the button when pressed - but if its not already there it probably wont work
as a sperate entity - i suspect that the best option would be a ppc /bluefin type device which will allow you to remove and reinstall the map - but only when stationary (for about 5 minutes)

if you CAN get it to work on a button it would be superb

I have the EDS-IPF which allows the swapping of the remap from a pc or laptop. takes around 45 mins. If you have a standard 150 without sports button you can have a 190 or 200PS map and change back and forth whenever you wish. If you have a sports button equipped car it is switchable on the button which is great if you have it.

Think your right, ive been looking into it this evening lol I priced up a bluefin, like yourself, the EDS is a little cheaper.
Do you think the Bluefin is a better choice ?

Ah, the name change explains it lol Guess the button is out of the question then !!! I remember reading MCD's write up after his EDS remap and it was very positive...

    Thanks both !

I can most definitely confirm the EDS remap is excellent. Very smooth with no flat spots of any kind. There is the usual surge in power from aroound 1750rpm and a massive boost around 2.5k to 4k and even up to 5k if required. I would say fuel consumption is only increased when taking advantage of the extra power as nprmal driving sees no different.
