Hi all, as some of you may know I still have an ongoing saga of my Gsi Idling roughly, I took it into the dealer, they had it on Mon & Tue, apparently had 3 different people look at it and someone even drove it home on Mon night and returned to work in it the next morning 70mile round trip! So they call me on Tue and say thereís nowt wrong with it, I says, no I didnít bring it in to ask you if there was something wrong with it, I brought it in telling you there was something wrong with it and for you to find out what. (a bit pompous I know, but Iím getting fed up by now Ė I had to endure 2 days of a 1.0L 3 cylinder Corsa for 2 days ) As it happens, there was another customers GSi that I spotted on the forecourt when I went to pick it up, so I said to the guy on the service desk can you go and the keys for that car, let me sit in it and feel if that car judders or not. Surprise surprise, it didnít. I said a guarantee you could go in my car now start it up and it would judder, the guy on the service counter said Iíll go and have a word with the foreman and see what he says. A few moments later, they both appear and the foreman says Iíll just go and sit in the other car and see what itís like, a few moments later and they come back and the service guy says, yeah its juddering slightly now, I know it wasnít before but I just felt it. WTF, do these people think Iím a ****** moron So I argue the toss explaining to the foreman that there is something wrong with my car, he says well we canít find anything wrong with it, weíve plugged it onto the tech 2 etc etc, I said the tech 2 doesnít find everything thatís wrong, if a fault is intermittent, it wonít necessarily pick it up. He said well we can also take a data capture of all the readings that the sensor are taking and look at them on the computer (TIS) to check if the values are correct. So basically after a bit of a discussion, he agreed that he could feel the problem that I was talking about, but because there werenít any abnormalities on the tech 2 and data capture he could not diagnose it, he said that I would have to come back in when the car was doing the problem and the only way they would have to do a data capture at the exact time the fault occurred to see what the problem was Ė it only judders for a split second, it would be impossible to capture the data at the exact time! The only explanation that he could give to me was that the O2 sensor takes a reading and resets itself continuously and itís at that moment when it resets itself that I feel the judder in the car.
Iím still not happy, sorry about the long thread, but a problem shared is a problem halved; my Fiancťe is fed up of listening to me! Please, does anybody have any advice on what my next line of action should be? My local dealer is obviously not prepared to spend any more time on the car without getting paid. Will Vaux listen to my problem?? who do i contact there?? Iím at my wits end, I love my car and it drives so smooth, just the idling. I'm also worried about how Iím going to sell it on, who the hells going to buy a car that feels like itís misfiring.
