illuminating sports button

I am trying to get my sports to light up but i don`t know what type of wire to use,i have found a thread on the search forum describing how to do it via connecting a wire from the back of the t/c switch but does anyone have any ideas on the type of wire to use to make the connection possible?

Look at this picture. The SPORT switch is connected to BCM Module. For any question please ask.

If you mean what size wire to use? I would say 1 or 1.5mm should be fine.

what does this mean tristan,it cant be done?Patchy would it be a single strand of wire be ok or something like speaker wire?sorry to sound abit thick but i`m not great with electrical wires.lol

Basically you've got three inputs - the backlighting with the variable resistor, the LED illumination when the switch is on, and the physical switch itself to turn the system on. They go left to right in that pic. In theory all you need is the 12V power supply to the left had resistor to make it light up...

So that means I could link it up to my tuning box which is switchable

the link Lee is found in the search forum under the heading "illuminating the sports button",it is mentioned that the wire was soldered to the led in the t/c switch and then soldered to the sports button

All what you need to make is connect pin 2 from Sport switch to pin 2 from TC and pin 5 from SPORT switch to pin 6 from TC. On the backside of switch is marked the pin number.
