Oh we did like to be beside the Seaside!!!!

Well, yet again I have to say a HUGE thank you to all the folks who took the time to join the North West Region for another successful meet, this time at Southport.

Despite all the threats from the weathermen (what do they know, eh?!?!) the day dawned dry, although a little dull, and by the time Drinky and I met up with Spikey, Plasma and new face Karl (SXi 2.0T) at Lymm services, the sun was trying to break through. Following an enjoyable run up to the coast, we hit the sands just after 10am, and cranked up the BBQ. I guess noses started twitching, because before long we were ten in number (not including Drinky's work van, soon christened the Veccy-C Burger van!! ) Ian even managed to persuade an innocent passing non member Vec C owner to move his car a little nearer, to make up numbers!!!

Dean did a stirling job of frightening away non Vectra's, in exchange for burgers and chicken!!

By the time the food had gone, the sun was well and truly shining, and we all enjoyed a few hours gossip whilst toasting nicely on the sands.

The highlight of the day had to be the flyover by Ian C's friend, who caught a few aerial snaps of our impressive 'V' formation. Ian surprised us all by treating us to a few 'sandy donuts' (you'll be picking the sand out of those 20"'s for WEEKS!!! )

Following a short discussion, the clear winner for 'Car of the Day' was Tony (Caterman) with his lovely shiney ends (on his tailpipes!!) and there was a special award for Dean (Plasma) for taking the trouble to make the long journey up North to support us.

Following the presentations, most of the members took a drive to see Vec-sports' meet - seems they had a great turnout as well!

All in all a fantastic day, old faces and new (smashing to meet Karl (SXi 2.0T) and Dave (ukanalyst) and their lovely motors)
